SAFE
NO DRAG
Modified-live vaccines (MLV) are incredibly effective because they induce both humoral (antibody) and cell-mediated immunity.* However, that usually creates a short-lived performance drag on the animal because more resources go to its immune system instead of growth while it builds up a defense. That's not the case with PRRSGard, a safe and effective vaccine. Dive into the data.
Growth performance due to vaccination-related drag when the pigs were vaccinated with PRRSGard compared to the non-vaccinated PRRS-naive pigs (P = 0.14).1

SAFE
LOW SHED + SPREAD
The virus from the PRRSGard vaccine doesn’t travel to naïve pigs.
After commingling in the same pen with PRRSGard-vaccinated pigs for 41 days, 80% of the non-vaccinated PRRS-naive pigs (57/71) tested negative by RT-PCR.2

There was no PRRSV detected in aerosol samples at any of the three test locations within or outside the barn up to 35 days post-vaccination, when aerosol testing concluded.3

EFFECTIVE
LOW SHED + SPREAD
PRRSGard is effective for vaccinated pigs in disease-challenged scenarios.
Lower Mortality
Mortality after eight weeks on feed for the PRRSGard group was 3.69%, whereas the mortality for the group given the leading competitor vaccine was 7.25%.4
Lower Mortality
Mortality after eight weeks on feed for the PRRSGard group was nearly half at 3.69% of the competitor's vaccine group at 7.25%.4
